Your Pet's Surgery

Your Pet's Surgery At West Suburban Veterinary Associates, P.C., we strive to make your pet's surgical procedure as safe and comfortable as possible. We care for every pet as if he or she were our very own. Because of this, we use the most advanced surgical techniques and veterinary medical equipment in order to provide a safe, comfortable surgical experience. Our veterinarians have many years experience performing a wide variety of surgical procedures, from routine soft-tissue surgeries to the latest orthopedic procedures, including ACL repairs.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses a small camera (called a laparoscope) to view abdominal organs and guide incisions. Laparoscopic surgery is most often used for surgical spay procedures. The laparoscopic spay is simple to perform, results in few complications and allows for better visualization of abdominal organs. The laparoscopic spay truly is a humane and practical alternative to the traditional surgical spay. West Suburban Veterinary Associates, P.C. is the only veterinary practice in the local area that offers this advanced procedure.

Laser Surgery

At West Suburban Veterinary Associates, we strive to offer your pet the most advanced surgical techniques. Your pet's care and comfort are important to us. That's why we use the latest laser surgical equipment. Laser surgery results in less pain, less bleeding, and less swelling. Laser surgery reduces the risk of infection and discomfort following surgery. It all adds up to better surgical care and more comfort for your pet.

Safe, Comfortable Surgery

Your pet's safety and well-being are extremely important to us. We strive to make every surgical procedure as comfortable as possible for your pet. During surgery, your pet is sedated using highly-advanced anesthetic techniques. While your pet is in surgery, his or her vital signs are monitored using extenstive monitoring equipment, including doppler blood pressure monitors.

Medical Boarding

West Suburban Veterinary Associates maintains a small medical boarding ward where your pet can stay comfortably following surgery.

In order to make your pet as comfortable as possible, we maintain separate areas for dogs and cats. All pets receive comfortable bedding while staying with us. A dedicated animal care manager, who is also a certified veterinary technician, monitors our surgical patients before and after surgery. Having a dedicated staff member in the medical boarding area allows us to provide high-quality, excellent medical care.
